This is definitely one of my TOP FAVORITES!!

one of my friends once commented that she feels like she is in the Greek Isles it was so beautiful there the one afternoon.

It is situated on the West Atlantic side of Cape Town ten minutes from the city.

“Clifton Beach is made up of 4 coves and the beaches are called 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th. When the summer south-easter blows, the Clifton beaches are usually well sheltered from the wind. All of the beaches are accessible via stairs leading down from the road above. In summer, plan to get to the beach early as parking is very limited. Generally 4th is the busiest in summer with good changing room and bathroom facilities. Kiosks on the beach sell snacks, colddrinks and ice-creams as do the many vendors that wander the beach. Deck chairs and umbrellas are also available for daily rental. If you’re on a budget and plan on spending alot of time on the beach - buy your own umbrella as this will save you in the long-run. Clifton 4th is a Blue Flag beach.”

What is a blue Flag Beach ?
Clifton 4Th beach has been awarded the converted blue flag, this European-based campaign measures beaches against strict environmental, tourist and safety standards. It was founded in France in 1985, established to set beach standards that take both ecological and social factors into account. Beaches are reviewed on a yearly basis. Generally 4th is the busiest in summer with good changing room and bathroom facilities

Location: On the M14 road between Big Bay Beach and Table View Beach
This is the beach to go to if you want the perfect view of Table Mountain.

“Blouberg Beach is situated between Big Bay and Table View Beach. The corner of the beach has some great rock pools to explore.  From the beach you can look out into Table Bay as well as look back down the beach at Table View and Milnerton. When the beach is windy, the surf is dominated by the tricks and aerobatic skills of kites surfers and boardsailors.
The conditions here are ideal for these sports as it’s often quite windy and there is plenty of space along the beach to accommodate all the sailors. When the wind is calm this is a great place to relax and work on your tan. “You will find lots of people out and about also jogging, rollerblading and cycling on the promenade. Also the perfect spot if you are looking for the best soft serve in town !!

Location: Coming from Chapmans Peak, on the Noordhoek side, turn right into Avondrust, then right into beach Rd.
Wind Direction: Exposed to the wind. Best on calm days.
Surf Spot: Notable breaks are the Hoek, in the far right hand corner and Dunes half way down the beach. The Hoek is a right peaking break and Dunes is an excellent beach break. Both work on Easterly winds.
Things to bring: Sun cream, umbrella, towel, beach mat, cool drinks, carry bag, snacks, goggles & snorkel, dry clothes, a hat, bat & ball… and any other beach games. 
 

“Noordhoek Beach is best viewed from Chapmans Peak drive as you can see the immense size of the beach from this high vantage point. The beach is very popular with walkers, horse riders and of courses surfers. There is a well known ship wreck on the beach, called the Kakapo. It can be found towards the left hand side of the beach as you look out to sea. In the 1900’s the ship headed straight into the beach as the skipper thought he had already rounded Cape Point.
The beach has soft white sand to walk on and the views of the bay are spectacular. The beach is rather isolated so be cautious when swimming. It is also advisable to walk with a group of people when you visit the beach. “

We recently went to this beach and because the wind was so strong i burnt very badly not feeling the sun. So be careful, and if the wind blows it will be very unpleasant due to the size of the beach. There is no protection and your scalp and skin will be covered in sand. Dont fall asleep on this beach as you might wake up buried beneath the sandstorm ! The water is very clear however and it is truly a magnificent beach to go see.
