So we have been talking about New York a lot and I thought I would write about one of my experiences there. It was actually really funny and I am writing you this at the expense of a very dear friend of mine Lucy. On our trip to the “Big Apple” we decided to take the Double Decker Deluxe tour, which even included tickets for the Statue of Liberty Ferry. We decided to, according to Trusted Tours and Attractions, ” to enjoy the best of Manhattan and Brooklyn”. We took the Uptown Tour Loop which included highlights of Harlem, Central Park, the Lincoln Center, Dakota Apartments and Musuem Mile. The Uptown loop can be caught at 9 am to 3 pm which gave us enough time to wake up in the morning and enough time to get ready for a night out in town !!! New York definitely offers a world of cultural diversity and at night you can see the Big Apple sparkle. We went everywhere and at the end of our trip we took advantage of our free tickets on the ferry, unescorted. Unbeknown to me Lucy never knew that there was in fact no “Big Apple” to be seen in New York. Throughout our entire trip on the Double Decker she never once told me what she was looking out for, I just assumed she was in awe of the magnitude you are engulfed with seeing New York for the first time. And on the Ferry her lack of general knowledge and untraveled entire came billowing out where everyone on the Ferry was as shocked and surprised as me with Lucy’s question. She asked me if we were heading out to the “Big Apple” and when in fact she would start seeing this “Big Apple” everyone was talking about. A young gentleman came over to us and explained to us, assuming I was under the same impression, in depth how and when the New York City came to be called “The Big Apple”. He rambled on and on about the Depression Era side walk apple vendors, the Harlem night club and the popular 1930’s dance. Anyway long story short, I had never imagined that Lucy never knew that there was in fact no big apple to be seen in New York. It was so funny and I just played along being the uninformed clueless South African pretending I was not the only baboon running around in my back yard.

It is definitely a great trip to experience and I would recommend it to anyone visiting New York for the first time.  And you can in fact trust the Trusted Tours & Attractions company to give you the best results on your traveling experience.
