Simply Asia - Bloubergstrand

This comfy little spot right next door to the Keg is a wonderful little restaurant to slip away to if you are in the mood for something different, light and if you want to treat your palate. They have delectable dishes and with the 518 you simply cannot go wrong. The peanutty chilly like strips of steak and noodles simply made me dig in with my chopsticks for more and more. I finished the bowl and wanted more, of course my stuffed stomach couldnt handle any more.

The staff is very friendly and the manager very interested! We were lucky that when we were there, there was an amazing full moon in the backdrop and with the little breeze billowing from underneath out feet I could close my eyes and simply imagine Asia.

Their food and vibe is absolutely fabulous and the red lights give the perfect backdrop for a relaxing yuppy vibe.

Go check out their website and find a Simply Asia near you !!! http://www.simplyasia.co.za/branches.php !

Driftwood Cafe - Parklands

Driftwood Cafe

After being in Parklands for over 9 months I was shocked to know there was this beautiful Cafe just meters away from where we stay in Parklands. We always seem to go to the same places because we forget what other restaurants there are in our suburb. We had a farewell lunch here the one Saturday Afternoon and I really had a fantastic time and meal. Our friends kids could run around and play with the ducks, jump on the jumping castle and climb the trees. The staff is really great and the owner was super friendly and made us feel like we were actually at home.

I would recommend this venue to anyone if they are looking to have a fun lunch, welcoming breakfast or romantic dinner. The setting is relaxed and it feels like you are out of town. This venue is also used for weddings and I am sure you could hire the place out for a party.

Yasmine - Contraceptive Stroke ?

News / Articles No Comments »

To all the ladies and guys out there that has had to deal with the symptoms of this darn pill, I urge you to check out the following website and all the comments made on this pill, Yasmine. I recently flushed my pills because I was loosing control over my life, wanted to take my life and leave my boyfriend. I suffered terrible anxiety attacks, headaches and a feeling of unworthiness. I became a person I didnt know anymore bursting out crying one moment sobbing and the next happy and possitive. I was an emotional rollercoaster and my boyfriend couldnt carry on because he said he didnt know me anymore.

And coming from two people who absolutely adore each other and share a very special love. I am super excited about life always, very adventurous and love being on the go and I am extremely ambitious and fun loving.  My life and personality went down the tubes and I was feeling sad, lost and out of control.

SO IF YOU ARE OUT THERE AND TAKING THIS PILL FEELING ANY CHANGE TO YOUR PERSONALITY PLEASE DUMP THIS PILL.

Go to  http://www.medications.com/se/yasmin and read the posts, people are having strokes, left paralyzed and getting lumps in the brain because of this shit !!!

Feb 10 - 2008 !

I went on the pill because my periods were very irregular. I was on Yasmin for two months altogether. One week I thought I had the stomach flu because I was throwing up. I had quit throwing up for about a week and then I started throwing up again. I also had horrible headaches and I didn’t before I started taking it. I called my OBGYN and she said to stop taking them immediately. I too was also constipated. She then prescribed the NuvaRing, which I was on for two months. I wasn’t throwing up anymore, but my headaches were still there. I was 22 and had a bad stroke. I was paralyzed on my right side. With therapy I was able to move my right side. My doctors are not sure what caused it, but they did say that the birth control pills are what pushed it over the edge. I am lucky to be alive. I believe birth control pills can have different side effects on everyone and there are side effects with almost any drug. However; there are a few side effects that are common to almost everyone who takes that particular drug. In the case of Yasmin, it seems bloading and constipation are common.

P.S I love you

P. S I love you

Sad sad sad, and even more sad but extremely well written and acted. I cried throughout the entire movie and it evoked many feelings inside of me. The actors were superb and the story truly captivating. I will definitely be watching this again. P.S I love you and the Bucket List this year will make all of us rethink what is really important in our lives and it will make the trivial fights and issues we have with each other seem less important.

The characters in this movie and their relationship was very real and I could actually feel the heartbreak. I could actually feel her yearning for her husband and the futile attempts to love again, or even just feel. How at any time life at any moment can change and never be the same again, whether for good or for bad.

Holly Kennedy is beautiful, smart and married to the love of her life - a passionate, funny, and impetuous Irishman named Gerry. So when Gerry’s life is taken by an illness, it takes the life out of Holly. The only one who can help her is the person who is no longer there. Nobody knows Holly better than Gerry. So it’s a good thing he planned ahead. Before he died, Gerry wrote Holly a series of letters that will guide her, not only through her grief, but in rediscovering herself. The first message arrives on Holly’s 30th birthday in the form of a cake, and to her utter shock, a tape recording from Gerry, who proceeds to tell her to get out and “celebrate herself”. In the weeks and months that follow, more letters from Gerry are delivered in surprising ways, each sending her on a new adventure and each signing off in the same way; P.S. I Love You. Holly’s mother and best friends begin to worry that Gerry’s letters are keeping Holly tied to the past, but in fact, each letter is pushing her further into a new future. With Gerry’s words as her guide, Holly embarks on a journey of rediscovery in a story about marriage, friendship and how a love so strong can turn the finality of death into a new beginning for life. Tigresse - Sunset Cruise

Our Fun 1 Comment »

I was treated to a sunset cruise on the Tigresse by my partner and was once again enchanted with the experience. The crew was very friendly and their service with a smile was absolutely wonderful. The toilet facilities was always neat and the little snack pack was packed with good tasting goodies. There was champagne served all the time and on our departure we experienced an entire school of dolphins playing in the bay. Compliments of the skipper.

The sunset lay layers of gold and lead on the swell and the ships and sailing boats made for a picturesque backdrop. It was super romantic and the sights of Capetown was truly captivating. I have also been on their sister CAT the FUJICAT and that made me want to come back for more.

The weather plays a major role so be sure to catch it on a good day, as I have been dissappointed on my birthday before.

The Brave One - Jodie Foster makes a comeback

Movies 1 Comment »

vm_sy140_sx100_.jpg

This movie spells Drama like it never has before, evoking many emotions and feelings inside of you. It made me very sad and it made me think of what I would do if anything this brutal had to ever happen to my loved one/s. I was in tears and you find sympathy with her streak of revenge and you might just understand why she goes on this rampage of taking justice into her own hands. Jodie Foster finally comes back to us.

David Kirmani is an American bachelor, who works as an Medical Professional, lives alone in an apartment with his dog and sweetheart, Erica Bain, who works as a Radio Host. They usually take their pet out for a stroll in a nearby park and let him run and fetch. One day while at the park they let the pet run without a lease, and when he does not return nor respond to their calls, they frantically search for him. They eventually find their pet being held by three men, who want a reward, and when David refuses, they start to molest Erica, David intervenes, both he and Erica are assaulted by two males, while the third uses a camcorder to film this incident. Erica is knocked unconscious, and regains her senses several days later in a hospital. It is here she will be told the shocking news that David is no more and the pet is missing. A traumatized Erica returns home to try and regain her life. She also attends the Police Station but does not get much help. Fearful of a repeat of this type of incident, she gets an unlicensed gun and carries with her all the time. One day she witnesses some youth terrorizing subway passengers, forcing them to alight at the next station. When they approach her, she shoots them dead. She uses her gun several times thereafter, always gunning down people committing violent crimes. One day she is asked to attend the Police Station to identify a male who may have been responsible for David’s death and the Assault on herself. She does recognize him, but refuses to identify him. Subsequently she finds out his whereabouts - and is all set to avenge her lover’s death - not realizing that Detective Mercer has her as a suspect in the recent killings and is all set to apprehend her. The question remains will Erica be able to avenge David’s death and the assault on herself? Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com)

27 Dresses

Directed by Ann Fletcher

This movie was uplifting and at times frustrating. A good watch and most certainly a chick flick. A little predictable, but easy to watch.

I suggest getting it on DVD, with loads of popcorn on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

The perfect wedding venue - Die Strandkombuis

Restaurants 1 Comment »

strandkombuis2.jpgpic.jpg  Die Strandkombuis

We were camping at the Yzerfontein Caravan Park when we saw the huge tent like restaurant on the foot of the beach. I thought it outstanding during the day and I was enchanted when late in the afternoon, I noticed a white tent being pitched in front of it on the beach.

It was a romantic site and with the Saxophone billowing wedding tunes from its pegs I dreamt of my own romantic wedding there on the beach. Nestled in my partners arms with the romantic crashing of the waves and the moon shining across the oceans horizon. This is the perfect wedding venue, with accommodation on the doorstep you can have your guests sleep over and enjoy and buffet breakfast. I could only envy the 10 hour old bride.

The guests that we met the next morning still staring at the splendid view was proud of their perfect wedding experience. Totally in awe of what they had experience the previous night. Ahhhh a girl can only dream.

From their website :  http://www.strandkombuis.co.za/ !

Strandkombuis restaurant is situated on the pristine Sixteen Mile Beach, Yzerfontein, only 45 minutes from Cape Town. You can relax and enjoy the casual atmosphere of the beach setting and absorb the natural surroundings of the magnificent west coast.

Strandkombuis is the ideal venue for romantic weddings, business functions or long lazy lunches. Up to 90 of your guests can be conveniently accommodated in the beautiful, rustic B&B next door.
