It is a Saturday morning and my boyfriend and I join our mate Grant and his girlfriend Jeannie and her son to go do some rock climbing. In Main Road Observatory City Rock offers a truly fun and challenging experience for the beginner and expert-challenger-rock climber in Capetown. This facility was fun and the gear was very cool. We had no problem finding gear that fit and even the little guys were catered for.

Indoor Climbing is a sport that builds fitness, strength, confidence, flexibility and balance. Indoor climbing can be compared to a combination of yoga and weightlifting, and offers a fully body workout. At CityROCK you can experience this exciting and fast-growing sport in a healthy, supportive and professional atmosphere. The gym features a sculpted Bouldering area of 150m2 in size. Most of the wall looks like real rock. It is in fact a piece of art constructed from reinforced concrete.

We also have steep walls meeting up in a cave to give even the strongest climber a great workout. Beneath the Bouldering walls are soft 500mm padded foam mats to give you a comfortable landing surface.

Opening Hours.

Mon - Thurs - 11 am - 9 pm.

Fri 11 am - 6 pm.

Sat, Sun & Holidays 10 am - 6 pm.

Hours are for both the gym and Gear Shop.
