Betty’s Bay

I love waking up here in the morning and I simply love the sunset. As the first rays peek through the opening I left in the curtains my entire heart and soul leaps out of my slumber to head to the beach. This wondrous beach waking up with me, the waves waking up every wind, every jogger and the fisherman walking on the sand truly writes what the morning holds.

As the sun starts setting the words come streaming through my finger tips and my thoughts freshly renewed by the beauty this day would hold. From coffee over the pebbled path, to our hosts dad thundering away at the weeds and wild flowers. We went on a treasure hunt on our bikes through this little Bay, Betty’s Bay, my now favourite retreat. Chased away from private property by Granny Weatherwax  shouting profanities that fell on deaf ears, to trotting over dirt roads and tar to a whale sightseeing.  Foreigners all over tried to make sense of our verbal awe; they were translating to their loved ones what we had seen.

We rendered back to our abode all starved and thirsty and laid into the Peroni’s cream cheese and crackers.

Have I mentioned, I really love waking up here in the morning and watching the sun settle in the background over the horizon. Getting ready to creep behind the monstrous magnifying mysterious Overberg Mountain to bid us farewell, surprising us again with a fantastic awaking of just how pretty it is over here,
